What will the Exodus look like?
The story of the First Exodus is found in the Old Testament. It begins in the book of Exodus and ends in the book of Deuteronomy At first glance it is a story of deliverance; a story about a people who were enslaved by the government of the nation they lived in. But a closer look at the struggles the Israelites went through on their journey to freedom tells another side of the situation. different tale. The Exodus is a story about the power of God to deliver His people from bondage - any and every bondage. It is about a journey to test what was really in their hearts and to teach them how to be a people who could live in freedom. It is a story about the God who saves and delivers us. In the story of the first Exodus the full power of God’s love is on display. The first Exodus is a promise of God’s Mercy, provision , protection and power. Not only did He provide food and water but look at the story from a logistics view. What do you need, when do you need it and how will it get to you. God’s awesome care of His people is amazing. Even their clothes and shoes did not wear out (Deu.8:4;Neh.9:21). He took care of their flocks - He even fed the animals that traveled with them. Psalms 105:37 tells us that there was none who were sick or disabled among them! Picture in your mind what will happen to you when you take those first steps out the door!
Isa.40:31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
We serve a Mighty God! The First Exodus is a pattern of the Second Exodus. It is about God saving His people from an unrighteous world, moral decay, cruelty and oppression. It is an opportunity to be Kingdom people willing to learn how to live under God’s government. It is a journey of faith, hope and trust. It will be a real life physical journey where we will need to hear the Holy Spirit and respond to take actual physical steps to walk out in faith and arrive at the physical place on the map the Spirit instructs us to go to! Is your faith - your belief in God strong enough to lead you on this trip? A journey where not only do we witness the powerful love of God for ourselves, it is also a journey to show the entire world the power and purpose of God on this earth! We will walk through the chaos of the tribulation - safe in His arms - to show all of creation how awesome is the God we love and who loves us!
The Greater or Tribulation Exodus is not only a time of deliverance it is also a time of training. (Please see the section on the Wilderness Test). God’s plan to deliver us in this day is very similar to the Exodus out of Egypt. We will be mobile and He will protect and provide for and teach us. A closer look at the struggles the Israelites went through on their journey to freedom tells another side of the situation, a different story. A closer look shows a people so enthralled by their own opinions, their own fears and unbelief that they could not change nor receive the freedom that God intended for them! They never mentally, emotionally or spiritually left Egypt! A WORD OF WARNING - the Israelites rebelled. They complained. They refused to go when God instructed them to but at a later time they decided to go after God told them not to.
Their rebellious attitudes led them to a disastrous encounter. Will we miss our window of opportunity because of unbelief and doubt and fear? Will our children pay the price of our sin as did the children who wandered in the wilderness for forty years? We must learn to hear and believe God’s instruction. Don’t go back to the bondage that God leads us out of just because our own ideas and opinions are more important to us than the Word of God. When God leads us out - He is with Us! The oppressors around us will have no power to devour us (Deut.10:5) instead all of the governments of this world will come to fear us as the manifestation of God upon this earth. (Deut.31:6 or 26) What an incredible opportunity to be witnesses of Gods glory.
There will be testing and trials in the Tribulation Exodus just as there was in the First Exodus. How will we respond to them? Will we accept the challenge in front of us to break the habits of the past? Will we yield to God’s will and walk away from selfish desires and surrender to God’s purpose for us? Will we be a people who trust in God’s mercy and be willing to lead others into the promised land? Will we lay down our own theology to walk in the power and purpose of God’s Word?!
Micah 7:15 “As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show them wonders.”
******food water light shade heat protection health clothing instruction(tabernacle a place to learn and communicate) what God provided in first exodus he will provide in trib exodus. scriptures for both There is a great lesson to be learned about surviving in a war. We can learn from the world’s repeated history. The armies that survived most often were the most mobile armies. Staying in one place makes you very vulnerable and once the enemy pinpoints you location you become a target! You can read all the end time scenarios you want about people surviving by leaving the cities and traveling through the country side to stay out of the enemy’s hands. All those stories have that right. In the biblical example of the first Exodus we see where God led His people though the wilderness. He led them through many different places to challenge them and to test them and to prepare them to be a free people that could dwell with their brethren in the Promised Land.
How will the Tribulation Exodus look different? For starters it will not be just one group of people. it will start with multiple groups of God”s people as He leads them out of the cities into the “Wilderness of the people
Here are a few parallels of the Exodus story that can be seen in the books Exodus and Revelation:
